Paul is a lifelong resident of Bradenton and proud member of AFSCME 1311. Until he retired he worked for the City Public Works Department for 22 years. During that time he led the organizing drive for city employees that formed AFSCME local union 1311. Now he wants to apply his unique knowledge of the city by serving the citizens of Bradenton as a member of the City Council.

Paul attended the Florida AFL-CIO Labor Candidate School in Tallahassee, in May of 2014. He was recommended for endorsement by the West Central Florida Federation of Labor, CLC and he received the Florida AFL-CIO endorsement at the 2014 COPE Convention.

Paul has a General Election race against an incumbent who has consistently voted against the working men and women of Manatee County. He is running to represent Ward 3, but is in a county wide election. Even though he does not have a Primary he spends much of his time talking to the residents of the city about their issues.
