Events Planned Statewide

(STATEWIDE, Fla.) – On Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, Florida immigrant rights supporters will join a nationwide effort to increase pressure on members of Congress to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill by holding events statewide as part of the “Day of Dignity and Respect” for all immigrant families. Communities across our nation will call on Congress to pass commonsense immigration reform—legislation that includes a real road map to citizenship, rules that protect workers’ rights and an end to the destruction of families through deportations.
We can’t allow Congress to continue to stall on addressing our broken immigration system. All workers deserve dignity and respect for their hard work. It’s time to put aside politics and finally create a system that reflects the values our nation was founded on—that all people, regardless of what they look like or where they were born, are created equal and deserve an equal opportunity to pursue the American Dream.
