Senator Rubio Stand Firm: Fight For Florida Radio Ad
(MIAMI, Fla.) A radio advertisement released today, by Fight For Florida, Inc. on Spanish language radio stations across South Florida, asks Senator Rubio to stand firm in his conviction for a comprehensive immigration reform bill that is both fair and compassionate. Recent statements made by the Senator have shown that his resolve is weakening and that he is open to compromising on the bill he drafted as a member of the “Gang of Eight” to make it even harder for the 11 million aspiring Americans to become citizens. The advertisement asks listeners to call Senator Rubio’s office and urge him to stand firm in his convictions.

Remember what WE WANT for ALL workers:
- We want to make sure the border security triggers do not thwart citizenship for the 11 million.
- We want immigrant workers to be fairly paid and fully protected so they aren’t pitted against American workers in a way that undermines the wages and working conditions of all.
- We want families, including adult children of all ages and the siblings of U.S. citizens, to be given a chance to reunite with loved ones.
- We want the definition of families to include LGBT families.
- We want to roll back harsh detention and end deportation policies, except for felons, and stop the separation of families.
- We want to ensure that immigration enforcement is properly checked by safeguards, accountability and meaningful due process.
- We want immigrants from all areas of the world, including regions historically underrepresented, to be given an equitable opportunity to be admitted to America.

Sign the Petition Against Wage Theft!
Help fight against Wage Theft by signing this petition telling legislators to stop supporting Wage Thieves! SB 1216 by Senator Bradley and HB 1125 by Representative Goodson are both an attempt to overstep home rule at the expense of workers and their families, law-abiding businesses, and local economies. These bills would prevent future and already established/highly successful local wage theft programs from being implemented.

Write Your Local Newspaper: Stop Legislators From Blocking Local Wage Theft Ordinances
Write your local newspaper and tell your community about the Legislature’s real threat to prevent local governments from implementing wage theft ordinances. SB 1216 by Senator Bradley and HB 1125 by Representative Goodson are both an attempt to overstep home rule at the expense of workers and their families, law-abiding businesses, and local economies. These bills would prevent future and already established/highly successful local wage theft programs from being implemented. When wage theft occurs, workers and their families are denied hard-earned wages, local economies lose the extra consumer spending that is so vital to a community’s economic health, and responsible employers are forced to compete with unscrupulous businesses that undercut them on labor costs.
Write Your Local Newspaper: Stand up for Florida’s Public Workers
Write your local newspaper and tell your community about the real retirement security threat to Florida’s Firefighters, teachers, police officers, nurses and state employees face.
Retirement plans for state and local government workers affect millions of Floridians and boost the state economy. These plans directly impact about 1.2 million current and former public employees in Florida and millions of their dependents and other family members. In addition, tens of thousands of Florida’s businesses benefit each day when retirees spend their retirement checks on goods and services in every community in Florida. These vital benefits are provided through the Florida Retirement System and almost 500 local government retirement plans.
Bring Jobs Home- America Wants to Work
The outsourcing of jobs has spread from manufacturing to services and other sectors of the economy, devastating working families and their communities. Working together with our allies, the Bring Jobs Home: America Wants to Work Campaign will use pending legislation in Congress to raise the public dialogue to make outsourcing a key factor in the upcoming elections this fall.
We will expose corporations, especially those that are laying off workers, and forcing strikes and lockouts over this issue. Beginning the last week of June through the second week of July, join us in actions focused on holding elected officials and candidates accountable for where they stand on the Bring Jobs Home Act. We will also focus on corporations, financial institutions and specific plants in communities that have felt the impact of outsourcing American jobs.

Write Your Local Paper About Bringing Jobs Back To America
As we celebrate the anniversary of our great Nation’s birth, legislation is moving through Congress that will improve the economy, lower unemployment and revive weakened communities. With over 50,000 manufacturing facilities closed in the last decade, coupled with the loss of over 6 million jobs in that sector, there needs to be a focus of putting Americans back to work! The Bring Jobs Home Act (S. 2884, H.R. 5542) will eliminate some of the tax incentives that send good American jobs overseas while creating incentives to keep jobs here.
As the offshoring of jobs has spread from manufacturing to the service sector of our economy, it has had a devastating effect on families and our communities. This legislation is a good start and all members regardless of party affiliation should get behind this legislation. Will you write a letter to your local newspaper about this important issue so your neighbors know about this legislation?

These policies have outsourced jobs and rewarded corporations with taxpayers’ money while they ship production, jobs and innovation overseas. Wall Street bankers and CEOs have filled their pockets while the rest of us have picked up the pieces.

This month and beyond, working families across the country will call on lawmakers and corporations to bring good jobs home and invest in America again, instead of shipping away our future.
